Man Fashion - Are these Your Favorite Fashion Designers in London Fashion Week?

Basically fashion trends are always dictated by a band of selected few. Similarly, there are certain locations that are leaders in fashion trends all over the world, namely, New York, Paris, Milan and of course; London. London fashion week sees excellent designs by classic designers, contemporary designers and hybrid of both as well.

5 Selected Fashion Designers in London

Some of the fashion designers are trend setters and they not only rank as the top fashion designers in London but also around the world. Any dedicated fashion monger needs to know a bit about them. In fact, almost every fashion lover would be wearing something designed by them in one way or the others.

Outerwear Fashion Designer in London

When it comes to outerwear fashion designing there can be few that can compare with Burberry Prorsum. Bestseller from it is the classic Burberry trench. One of the unique features of the fashion design is that in the recent fashion week cat walk a rougher edge has been added to the fashion theme of the brand. Fashion additions that display the rougher edge are biker jackets, leather leggings, leopard print dresses, and studded jackets.

London Designer that Cares for Details

Fashion lovers like you and us that are concerned with details should always look forward to fashion designs by Scottish fashion designer Christopher Kane. Known for beautiful embellishment as key theme, the designer has a great knack of excellent details. Featuring elegant shapes as well as refined silhouettes that burst out into various vivid colors including pink, neon green and vivid pink among others, Kane leaves little to any guess work.

Since his debut in London fashion week back in the year 2003, he has earned name and fame for beautiful prints as well as patterns especially on silk fabrics. Many celebrities prefer the designs that are plain, simple, and elegant looking.

Sharp Shirting with Excellent Tailoring

If it comes to London designer offering sharp shirting with excellent tailoring, name of the London designer that crops up is Richard Nicoll.

Made with tough fabrics the highly designer apparels with some elegant modifications like black PVC interspersed with soft color ways as well as floating skirts, these designs create a completely different fashion statement.

New Age London Designer

Contemporary and modern designs by Henry Holland are trend setters on their own.

Mens Fashion: Revamp Your Wardrobe for Coming Summer

Men’s fashion is not as prone to change as women’s, so basically you may have everything you need to look the part for the summer 2011 season. Suits are still inclined to the classic cuts and the tailored look is back, with jackets accentuating the shoulders, and the waist is highlighted, as male models on catwalks chose to button the one button closest to the waist, whether or not it looked stretched and ruched the fabric as they walked.

Trousers are slim cut and worn without socks but with loafers or deck shoes. For those who still like socks, then there are gladiator sandals with built-in socks. The mens fashion trend is for shorts with jackets rather than full-length trousers, to beat the heat, and these are in the same suit material as jackets, and come to just above the knee. Socks are out this year it would seem.

Although trousers are slim cut, mens fashion jeans are definitely flared this season, so you may want to revamp your wardrobe with the latest jeans rather than wearing the skinny ones that were “in” until so recently.

Jackets are single breasted with shawl or pointed lapels and with either double or single buttons. White of course is in for those summer balls that are starting now. Bikers’ jackets are also de rigueur this season and can be in traditional leather or lighter fabric and with or without sleeves. These match the “wild boy” hairstyles that seem to be in fashion once again.

As for shirts, you can get away with the button down collar and rolled up sleeves, but this summer shirts have prints and colors are inspired by the earthy tones of nature, so they are dark green, burgundy, terracotta and clay shades. Buy a light sleeveless knitwear jumper which can be worn with or without a shirt, and forget the tank tops that only come to your waist. The T-shirt look this summer is sleeveless and long and in neutral shades of grey, off-white and white.

Man Fashion: 5 Simple Ways to Choose the Right T-Shirts

It’s mens fashion T-shirt time again, but before you dash out and buy any of mens fashion T-shits, consider what to look for in choosing them. They are very versatile and durable if you choose wisely, and it is better to pay a little more so that the T-shirts you buy will last the whole season at least.

  1. First of all, check that the color suits you, or if you are buying for a man, then think about the colors that suit him rather than the ones you like. If he has auburn hair, he might not look good in a flame red T-shirt, for example.

  2. You should also consider the color from the point of view of its color fast properties. Do a small test by wetting a finger and rubbing it on the T-shirt. If the color comes off onto your finger, it will lose its color rapidly and will always have to be washed separately by hand. If it accidentally gets into the washing machine then you will have a minor disaster on your hands. You could not test this if you buy from online store, but you can rely on reputable brands such as Henleys and others.

  3. Buy colors that reflect the heat rather than those which absorb it, so white is a good choice and pastel shades, beige or pistachio green, not black or dark blue. You don’t want to be any hotter than is necessary.

  4. Check the stitching to see how firm it is. If it looks flimsy, then you will have a repair job to do after wearing and washing the T-shirt a couple of times.

  5. Last and most importantly, is to try it on and raise your arms above your head.

If the T-shirt rides up and leaves a vast expanse of flesh between it and the belt- line, then you need a bigger size. If you have swathes of material bunched around your waist, when you do this, then clearly it’s too big, unless you want a really baggy mens fashion T-shirt.

Of course there are always rugby shirts and tank-tops for men, although the former is usually made from thicker cotton than the T-shirt, and the tank-top doesn’t suit everyone, and it doesn’t protect the vulnerable skin at the top of your arms and shoulders. Mens fashion T-shirts are the better bet as they don’t go out of fashion and are easy to wear.

New Eco Friendly Dying Technology

Say goodbye to streaking colors as well as fading threads. A whole new long lasting dye by British scientists could possibly mean the end of rose-colored “whites” as well as other clothing disasters. The revolutionary technology bonds the dye in order to textile fibers-particularly synthetic ones-on a molecular level, which results in coloring which won’t go, leach, or perhaps fade. To build up their product, scientists at the University of Leeds spun off their own personal organization, DyeCat, that provides an eco friendlier substitute for traditional dyeing techniques by mitigating waste, pollution, and energy use.

In usual dyeing processes, that account for seventeen to twenty percent of global industrial water pollution, swathes of material are colored utilizing chemicals in water baths. Despite the fact that molecules of dye soak into the fibers and settle in between, they’re not completely attached, because of this the sunlight, laundering, temperature, as well as other environmental variables can easily dislodge them from the surface.

The technology pioneered by DyeCat, alternatively, doesn’t make use of water at all. It chemically bonds the dye to the filaments as they’re twisted and spun into fiber, permanently locking in the color so it never washes out. The color, in essence, becomes part of the material, and no dyes contaminate the water.

Top 25 Sneakers in 2009 - Part II

Continue from earlier post last week, here are the next 8 pairs of coolest sneakers designs ranked by Sneaker Freaker in 2009. Do give your comments whether these are also your choice.

Nike Supreme Bruin

After previously working with Nike on some successful, high-profile collaborations, New York-based retailer Supreme put its spin on the Bruin, Nike's first low-top basketball shoe, which debuted in 1972. The line comes in four basic colors, but the ultra-white model with metallic red pops is the one that ascends to the top 25.

Vans HUF Old Skool LX

Too often, classic is just another word for boring in the sneaker world. These kicks avoid that rap. Although the shoes are plain, intriguing details such as bricolage canvas, a suede upper, an embroidered Vans stripe, and repeating triangles on the foxing made the Old Skool one of the year's best.

Adidas Jeremy Scott Collection

Sometimes the sneaker lovin' community lacks humor, but no one would say that about designer Jeremy Scott. His collaboration with adidas this year (one in a long history) is a stunning four-model ensemble of lunacy and silliness. One shoe has three tongues; another, giant golden wings, while others have tassles, studs, and snakeskin.

Nike Presto

The '09 Presto remained true to its stylish roots, with the plastic-spined lace system once again taking center stage. Unlike its eye-popping, multitoned predecessors, the shoe's solid color schemes caught people's attention this go-around.

Converse UNDFTD Poorman's Weapon

Los Angeles store Undefeated has consistently styled sneakers with panache using a touch of military flavor. Released as part of its War Is Business campaign, the Poorman's Weapon featured a flight-jacket nylon upper, property tags, and removable Velcro logo patches. The black edition sold out in minutes, and the green wasn't around much longer.

Nike ACG Ashiko Boot

Named after a ninja's favorite weapon, the ACG Ashiko boot is made with Flywire, Nike's proprietary lightweight yet sturdy thread. Sneaker Freaker's editors were so impressed with the shoe after taking a pair hiking, they quickly plastered it on the magazine's cover.

Reebok Proper Dual Pump Runner

This pair of kicks represents the joint efforts of Reebok and Proper, a boutique in Long Beach, Calif. With PlayDry lining, memory foam, and a 100% synthetic upper, they are one of the world's first vegan runners. Even the glue was free of animal innards.

Adidas Kazuki ObyO Collection

Japan's Kazuki Kuraishi had worked for style dons such as clothing line A Bathing Ape and Fragment Design, a design house that has collaborated with such heavyweights as Rolex and Disney (DIS:US), but it was his adidas line that brought him international recognition. The line's KBALL mid-tops in rich black leather with eggplant laces are understated. Also, the slender Kazuki branding on the tongue is a tip-top top-off.

So again, stay tune with the last part of Top Sneakers in 2009 - Part III.
